Khirbet Qumran on the Web

This website is currently under construction. Therefore, the database is only available in German at the moment. Until an English version is finally installed, please use the German text for your search.

The following pages provide you with a selection of important search entries. The database starts with coins and continues with other objects (pottery, metal objects etc.) found in Qumran. For pottery objects we adopt the terminology proposed by Roland de Vaux, to facilitate cross referencing and avoid confusion.

Loci-Plan of Khirbet Qumran
The Khirbet Qumran Loci-Plan is intended to provide you with a preliminary overview of the site. It can only illustrate, but never substitute the official plans published in the authoritative excavation reports NTOA SA 1(A). Not all details on the Khirbet Qumran Loci-Plan are represented to scale, e.g. the search trenches had to be moved closer to the building for reasons of space management. For further details, please visit the PDF-pages Konzept (at the moment only available in German language). Here, you will find extensive information on the classification of the loci and other subjects.
